What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use pages. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage.
How we use cookies
Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to function. Without them, services such as quotes, checkout, or sign-in may not work. Examples include:
- teddy_gumroad_order — remembers your Gumroad checkout reference so we can link payment to your quote after you pay
- teddy_campaign_jwt — stores a promotional link token (expiry set from the token) so a discount code can be applied
- teddy_policy_payload — short-lived data used after payment to open your policy portal
- Session identifiers used to keep you signed in during a quote
Functional
These remember choices you make (e.g. progress through a multi-step form). They are not used for advertising.
Analytics (if enabled)
We may use analytics tools to understand traffic and improve the site. Where used, these may set their own cookies. We will update this policy if we enable third-party analytics requiring consent.
Third-party cookies
When you pay via Gumroad or similar providers, their cookies may apply on their domains. Please review their policies. Embedded content (e.g. fonts from Google Fonts) may involve limited technical requests to those providers.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from completing a quote or receiving your policy after payment in the same browser session.
Retention
Session cookies expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies (such as campaign or checkout helpers) expire automatically after the period stated when they are set, or when you clear them manually.
